Guillaume de Rubrouck House
William of Rubrouck House
The museum tells the story of a 13th century Franciscan monk who was sent on a mission to Mongolia by King Saint Louis to meet the KHAN MONGKHE (1253-1255). Brother Guillaume will write one of the most beautiful stories of the Middle Ages.
The museum therefore tells the story of Guillaume de Rubrouck and, through the various Mongolian objects on display, promulgates the culture of this Central Asian country. This visit will transport you to Mongolia!
From this fabulous trip will result a unique twinning in France between Rubrouck and a city of Mongolia, Bulgan (Khovd) in 1994.
