Fairs and kermis

Fairs and kermis

Popular festivals highly appreciated and eagerly awaited in our villages, the “Ducasse” or “Kermesse”, synonymous of Funfairs, are an opportunity for children to have fun and do some merry-go-round rides, bumper cars, but also to enjoy candy floss and fritters.

It is also the occasion in many villages of Flanders to parade with the Giants in the streets of the village, as it is the case for example in Bollezeele.

Kermis (kermesses) are today more often synonymous of school celebrations at the end of the school year and are an opportunity for children to stage a show and participate in small games.
